Tom's a year older!!

So Tom and I don't like to spend money on each other for our birthdays, so I make what he wants for dinner and dessert. We have been married for over 12 years and I just learned that he does not like cake. How can someone not like cake? For our anniversary I made key lime pie from scratch. He always talked about key lime pie his mission presidents wife made, but what to do for his birthday. I was going to make a cheesecake! I was so excited. I have only made the jello kind. Not too hard. I found a recipe for a chocolate cheesecake, but now I wonder if I was doing this for Tom or myself. I made it in the morning so it could cool. I could hardly wait till after dinner. I even made the whip cream from scratch too. I started to cut it for the kids, but I really hated to waste it on them. We forgot to put candles and sing happy birthday first, oh well, few slices missing won't hurt. The kids were worried the cake would catch on fire with all the candles on it, I didn't put all the candles on it. I didn't have enough.

Now for the sad part. I only got to have one piece. Bree gets really gassy when I have any dairy products, and there was just a little cream cheese in the cake. She also does not like when I eat chocolate, but this really made her sick. My kids really didn't like it, and Tom went back to work the next day and was gone for 2 days, so the rest of the cake was thrown out. All that work....

Jacob got his first haircut yesterday at the tender age of 3. His hair was walking a fine line between cute and messy. We decided at church the day before that it had crossed the line to messy. I was so scared that he would lose all his curls, but he still has some body to his hair.Jacob was very nervous getting up into the chair, and had to hold my hand. He was even OK when it came time to use the clippers. He just really wanted the sucker he knew was coming after he was done.

Sleep

So for my very first post, I am going to say how grateful I am for my little Bree, that she slept for 7 hours strait last night, and that I slept too. She has been such a good baby. I am so relieved for that. Having another Jacob would have been too much I think.

My days now are filled with holding Bree, holding Jacob when my arms are free, then house work and cooking. There are not enough hours in a day! But I always manage to get in my T.V. time too.

Now my next big project will be to get Christmas organized.
